I was born and raised in Alaska and my roots are in the village of Ninilchik. When I was a youngster fresh out of college, I taught school in several different rural Alaskan communities. After that I worked in the health care field for many years. Then, three years ago I got back into teaching. During the summer I fish on setnet sites in Cook Inlet with my family. I enjoy reading, hiking, xcountry skiing, skijoring and berry picking. In my next life I want to be a mountain goat. I joined the union because it is important to have teachers rights represented and fought for around the state.
